Love the pic, thanks for sharing! Loved your reading on the vanilla blog as well. Maybe it’s my old age, or recently losing an older brother to cancer, but I find myself feeling extra nostalgic concerning wars and loss of loved ones. The ability to put beauty on something so bleak is quite a testament to skill and effort. Again, thanks for sharing!

I am sorry to hear of the loss of your brother, truly I am. There is no question that when I lost my older brother a few years ago it changed me completely. It is a little different because I lost both of my brothers and both of my parents in a relatively short period of time, like one after the other. In some ways I think that I became even more reclusive than I previously was, but at the same time I became more compassionate. I was able to let so much go, including people, and I will hold on to what, and who, is important to me. Life is way to short and whatever time that I have left I want it to be positive. In order to do that you have to let go of the negative.
When my older brother died I was in a bad place, I just didn’t want to carry on anymore. So I bought myself a ticket to Japan to give myself something to hold onto and look forward to, and I am glad that I did. While I have now lost my entire family, there are still many happy years ahead. Holidays and birthdays suck, but they are always going to suck no matter what. On those days I will just have to work extra hard on the spanking blog, lol.
