It has been an unusual week in terms of thinking about this blog. I’m coming up on 15 years now and I got to thinking this week, is this it? The blog is paid for until May of next year, so I guess I have until then to decide. Even then though, it wouldn’t kill me to keep paying the $150 a year to keep the blog alive as an archive. The link on the far right pays me about $400-$500 a year, so I’m not out of pocket there. Mind you, that doesn’t take into account all of the subscriptions that I pay for to locate this material for you all. Even so, I’m not out of pocket at the end of the day.
I guess it will continue to go in ebbs and flows for me. I have left the active scene both in person and online, and my only connection nowadays to the spanking world is solely through this blog. I’m sure the blog will keep going, a part of me got to thinking that if I ever did want to separate myself completely from the spanking world then this blog would have to go. To be honest though, the blog is pretty stress free. There is the occasional hate message that will appear in my “Awaiting moderation” comment section, but I can of course simply ban IP’s so I only get to see them once. Further to that, even that is stress free because I have this ingrained mindset that it never reflects poorly on me, it reflects poorly on the people who act that way on the Internet.
A little bit off topic, but I was engaged in a similar discussion on a Youtube forum about video dislikes as well. I felt so empowered as an educator and as a person of inspiration. My contribution, and again it is a deep set feeling, was as follows. If, out of 100 people, you get 99 likes and 1 dislike, why are you focusing on that one dislike/negative comment? Out of 100 people, only one person is not like the other 99. That isn’t your problem, that’s their problem. Just try and imagine living your life in such a manner, what a horrible thought, dear lord.
Anyway, enough of my nonsense, here is this weeks contribution which will be added to my SPANKING FINDS album.

Thank you for your kind words as always. I am sure that the blog will continue, but perhaps with less commentary as I feel that I have said all that needs to be said. Yes, the Harry Thaw story is just one of many that I have discovered on the newspaper archive. I need to spend more time there looking though, because there is still so much to find.

A good find indeed, Richard, although Sweetspot has a claim to primacy having found it during his own search of newspaper archives in another paper three years ago. He sent it to me and I simply haven’t gotten around to posting it yet. I don’t have any additional information about it, I’m sorry to say.
Now about your blog: as the primary source for previously-unseen spanking photos it has been of such importance to the spanko world I would hate to see it disappear. I do understand, though, that things have changed for you and perhaps you need to spend your time – our most precious resource – on other endeavors. Should you decide next May to give up this blog, I would like to see it archived. If you don’t want to simply keep it hosted where it is – a possibility you mentioned – I would like to suggest and offer moving it over to Chicago Spanking Review, if that is technically feasible. That would relieve you of all costs but also revenues as I imagine the “Spanking Movies” link would have to be deactivated. (?) (That is, I don’t imagine the advertisers would want to keep it up once the blog was no longer featuring new material and had a different address.) It’s something to think about, anyway.
Of course you could also keep it active where it is and just post less frequently – a possibility you raised in your response to Theo.

The likelihood is that I will keep it active even if I post less frequently. I would never want to deny the public the opportunity to find some rare spanking material. Virtually everything that I post is copied and posted on another blog anyway, but I still have an awful lot of pictures that I have discovered that have not been seen in the spanking world. I’m pretty convinced of this because I search the old fashioned way, book by book, page by page. Not everyone invests that level of time into searching rather they just go with keyword searches.
What is probably going to happen is going to be more like my post today. Less writing and just some simple sharing of images. But of course I will have the option still to pontificate if I feel the need arise 🙂
While the next part is easily remedied by using free sources, I am also very conscious that the stories that I have written are a huge draw for people coming to this site. While the interaction may be very limited, it is quite motivating to know that my stories are read frequently every day, that inspires me to want to keep going. While the scene in general has become quite a turn off for me, being able to write my thoughts and ideas is still exciting. You know, to be able to present ones interpretation of our lifestyle as seen through my own eyes. That goes back to the early days of my involvement in the lifestyle before I started to become an active participant.
Lastly of course, while I may have little to no desire to attend a spanking party again, I do still want to make one final movie as my swansong in the scene. I can imagine renting a beach house, flying some people in and then making the story that I want to make over a weekend. That will cost me a ton, but it is something to strive for.
