One of the joys of blogging is that you get to hear both the pros and cons from the spanking community. The post below this one has perhaps been the most successful post that I have made to date, and has certainly garnered attention from the spanking community. Now to break that down to the lay person (I had to look the words up in a dictionary :-)), that means that my posts seemingly have no end and that they go on and on, and that I am also egotistically self absorbed with what I write about.
Now then, isn’t that the whole purpose of blogs? Isn’t the sole purpose of a spanking blog to present to the world our OWN personal take on the philosophical meaning of what spanking is all about? Therefore, I would imagine that ALL spanking blogs have writers who present their own interminable, solipsistic rants. It would almost make the comment posted on the Northern Spanking video appear to be the pot calling the kettle black 🙂
Go ahead and check out the new blog as there are a good number of excellent pictures on there, many of which have been posted prior on Oldspankingpics. Hey, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right 🙂
On the topic of interminable, solipsistic rants, you had better come back later tonight or tomorrow because I have a doozy coming. I am writing about the perception of abuse in the spanking world, and my views on it. Be warned though, this one is going to be totally interminable and it really is going to go on for ever and ever 🙂

Indeed a subject that touches a lot of “spanko’s” I suppose.
I have been following developments in the spanking world from way before the Internet arrived (yes, I am that old, LOL) and discussed the topic of ‘abuse’ extensively with Rosaleen Young and her 11.000 members on her “Spank My Bottom” Yahoo Group / site. That was roughly six years ago I think.
To me there is a trend developing that shows less attention for story lines, atmosphere, love and respect, proper characters, proper clothes, suitable spanking partners that fit the scene, correct and believable environments and so on.
I believe the focus now is on HARD, HARDER, HARDEST. Spankings are becoming beatings and – even more amazing – models that seem to be in competition with each other who can take the hardest spanking instead of performing the best in a realistic looking spanking scenes.
Our World is going faster and faster and seems to be fed by our ever increasing adrenaline needs… Drug induced or not.
Quick sensations, egocentric desires that need to be fulfilled. I want it and I want it NOW.
Hardly any time to build proper relationships that are crucial – in my opinion – for good spanking scenes and plays. I can immediately see it when there is a good and loving atmosphere between the two playing.
Many in the scene use te “EXCUSE” that some women are craving for good hard spankings as that such spankings release tensions, no psychologist can get released…
I do not believe that. I could believe it when such spankings took place between people who really know each other (for a long time), trust each other and understand each other.
In the spanking scene though, it is rather ‘double’ and therefore I call it an EXCUSE to allow the spanker to give hard spankings. To beat the spankee up, bruise her and ABUSE her.
An EXCUSE as the spanker and spankee hardly know each other, do it in front of a CAMERA and gladly collect the money that they hope will flow copiously as result of the “heavy beating”.
To me it’s all about the money and has nothing to do with ‘social work’ concerning the release of tension…
It is my sincere hope this trend will change as we cannot go on ‘playing’ harder and harder as the buttocks of the spankees will not be able to cope with forever harder, more brutal spankings (Corporal, Mental and Medical limitations).
If the spanking scene goes on with this is will surely attract the attention of Governments and I would not be surprised when it becomes a forbidden activity.
I appreciate it very much Richard that you dare to address this issue, as many (willingly so)act rather ‘negligent’ about this serious development and if I can assist in whatever way to discuss this issue be assured I will.

WTF? Richard, your blog is very interesting and presents an authentic, worldly voice from the scene. Why anyone has an issue with that is beyond me.
Funbun, your views are completely different to mine!! My next post in fact is going to have to be a rebuttal, because after you had reposted your opinions on different websites, and subsequently linked them to my post on abuse, various spanking community members have contacted me either through email, or through IM, stating that I am being hypocritical.
I am categorically not being hypocritical, my opinions on the abuse topic are vastly different to yours, and by linking my post and paraphrasing it, you are completely missing the essence of what I was saying.
