Hey guys,

I am busy typing up my next post for my 2007 year end awards, it isn’t finished yet so in the meantime I figured I would share a few pics with you from New Year’s Eve at the famous Rodeo Bar here in New York City.

Us old time Rockabilly fans here in New York got the best New Years present we could wish for this year, the return of The Belmont Playboys playing their rightful spot at the Rodeo Bar. What was once an annual event at the Rodeo Bar has sadly been replaced by other acts on New Years Eve over the last few years. Thankfully this year someone got their head out of their ass and put back on one of the best live bands, and one of my personal favorites, in America.

A while back these guys played the “Days of Thunder” wrap up party. Not only were Johnny Cash, June Carter Cash, Waylon Jennings and Robert Duvall in attendance, but each of them got on stage and performed with the Belmont Playboys for an impromptu jam session of old Johnny Cash numbers. Tom Cruise was quoted as saying about The Belmont Playboys “Man, those guys were Rockin'”. Never a truer word has been spoken, one of the best live bands out there and I urge you to catch them should they play your town. The lead singer, Mike Hendrix (pictured above) is also the editor of an extremely popular website called http://coldfury.com/ .
