I’m just sat back here reflecting on times as my interest in spanking related activities is on the low end at the moment. I’m actually hoping the timing of the cycle will be perfect.

When I was a kid and had no understanding of why I felt like I did, in the 1970’s we had the weekly comments where someone was always getting spanked. Teacher’s Pet, Minnie the Minx, Keyhole Kate, Fuss Pot, the list was endless.

In the late 70’s/early 80’s it was the bi-monthly trips to London to buy spanking mags and go to the spanking picture house on Dean Street I believe it was.

Moving to America I discovered Kinematics, and quickly I stocked up on every magazine and video I could acquire, watching them over and over and over again. A number of these old videos I have since acquired on DVD as they were an important part of my growth. And the came the Internet.

Now I have no complaints about the Internet at all, the friendships I have made would never have been possible, and far from being someone who I see in the scene and are nothing more than a casual acquaintance, these people have become my friends for many years and more keep being added. It is no different to people who once lived close to me but no longer do, they are still friends, and I see them less than the people who I met through the spanking world.

When the Internet started I think I lived on a 24/7 spanking diet, stories, pictures, videos, discussions, meets etc, etc;

As time has gone on though, I find that I am less and less interested in certain aspects of Internet time. Now I still love pictures and think I always will, but other than some historical mags that I bought at Shadowlane last year, I haven’t bought a mag in years. Same goes for videos, whenever I join a website it is for the pictures. The fantasies that play out in my mind are far greater than watching someone else’s presentation of a fantasy. It can and does work at times though, I am an ardent Shadowlane fan, and while I tend to prefer the older SL videos, I will still buy them from time to time. I also have a fondness for Pacific Force’s videos though I think I pretty much have all I want from that site. In fact at the Shadowlane party last year I had discovered that Tony Elka had a very early digital download that was never released on film. As I couldn’t download it he was gracious enough to put it on a DVD for me. Now how about that for service, eh? I might be the only person with that DVD 😉

The more that I have been online, the more my boundaries have changed. Stories rarely interest me anymore, I watch clips on spanking tube but honestly, it is nothing more than a quick skip to see if it might interest me.

Perhaps the novelty of the Internet has finally worn off after a decade because now I am more interested in real people and what their story is. I’m probably in the minority, but I also want to hear a person’s story, which is why I interview people. I would much rather take part in a discussion than read a story, even if I think someone is talking out of their arse.

When I look between 1979 when I first walked into the Janus bookshop, and 2011 and the Internet, my spanking world has changed dramatically. Do I like it? Oh without a doubt, I love that I get to meet so many people in real life. Do I miss the old days? Yes, parts of it I do, I’m stuck on 80’s films and they aren’t made like that anymore.
