1938 Newspaper clippings from the L.A. Times

Here are a couple of beauties that I discovered on the L.A. Times archive just today. There may be more but being that I don’t have much time today I will share these. I wanted to leave them in their original form which is huge, but I decided to at least trim the edges. The first article is about a club called the “Wives of spanking Husbands” and how they are starting an offshoot club for daughters of spanking parents. The second article is about a guy who gets a six month suspended sentence for spanking his daughter for breaking curfew in 1938!!

Oh, his daughter was 34 years old at the time 🙂

These files will probably open up very big and it may not even be a bad idea to save them to your hard drive. The first article just begs for a story to be written about it 🙂 Enjoy guys, these are the best finds I have found in a long time. (Click each pic for the full sized version)

  1. I remember an article in the San Francisco Chronicle around 1964 when Liz Taylor announced that she was going to marry Eddie Fisher. The paper said that one of her former husbands should have given her a sound spanking.

I’ve looked for the article in microfiche, but can’t find it.
