Sorted out some Universe kinks

In a nutshell I tried to redirect the update page to the homepage and ended up not being able to log back in to the site 🙂 So I had to remove wordpress from The Spanking Universe and start all over again. This time it only took 2 hours as oppossed to 6 hours yesterday because thankfully I saved the Feeds to all the websites.

As I stated in the post below, if you can take the time to update your links to The Spanking Universe it will save me a whole lot of time going around asking everyone to do so. The new link address is important though, when you add the link it should be directed to:

Now of course I will give everyone time to update their links (so far only about 8 people have done so) before moving on. Should you wish to have your link added to the Spanking Universe website then feel free to add mine and email me at houndog_windsor@yahoo.com. Two things I must address though. Firstly, I’m not going to do much chasing. I will send a courtesy email to new blogs asking if they want to be a part of it, but I won’t keep chasing them. There is one blog in particular who was part of the original list but even as far as today he still doesn’t have a reciprocal link back. I will give him a week and then I will move them to the sidebar. Everyone else I will give plenty of time to add a link back.

Secondly, IF your blog is nothing more than gratuitous spam of website updates, I will still add your link, however, I am going to create a sidebar for spam sites. The updates will still be visible, but they won’t clutter up the main body of the Universe with spamdates being posted to 20 sites every two hours or so. The goal of the Universe is for bloggers to have an outlet to promote their feelings, thoughts, ideas, stories and prose.

Once I have everything sorted out I will then create a sidebar for websites who choose not to link back. Their sites will be listed in the form of a blogroll, however it won’t show when they last posted, only the link to the site will be up there.

I’m trying not to be a hardass about any of this, the primary purpose is still being done as a community project, and with a little cooperation it could turn into a huge source of hits and visitors to websites who choose to take part. Remember, in the 2 months that I had the original site up, some blogs received upwards of 5,000 visitors from the Universe. My hope, over time, is for that number to at least double.

I am so psyched that this project is up and running after all the effort I have put in, I will just keep my fingers crossed now that webmasters help out my efforts 🙂 Thank you to everyone who has linked back to the Universe so far, and please remember that the direct link to the website updates page is:
