The third Friday of the month is always a great day for me. Why is that you ask? Because on the third Friday of every month in New York City, my Japanese friends Sei, Kick and June host their special Rebel Night for us rockabilly’s and whoever else decides to come. A couple of months ago MTV profiled them on a news segment, which you can see below. The Rebel Night takes place at Otto’s Shrunken Head on 14th St between Ave’s A and B, if you are in Alphabet City tonight pop your head in and say hello, the picture below the video is generally how I look by the end of the night so you should recognize me 🙂

Now for my British friends who might be around my age, somewhere around the 40 mark. I was scanning youtube last night and came across the opening credits to Today Is Saturday, Watch And See…… Otherwise known as Tiswas!! I am so glad to have grown up as a child with this “Children’s Show” as a staple of my viewing diet. I put “Children’s Show” in quotes as even the host, Chris Tarrant, once described the show as “A children’s show for children over 21” 🙂 While it may well have been a children’s show, it was packed full of subtle innuendo for the watching adult with an ever knowing wink from the presenters. Enjoy the opening credits to one of televisions greatest ad lib programs.
