Last night I received an email from a guy who I correspond with in Japan. He had sent me an awesome paddling image from the 1970s that I had not seen before, along with a few other images that were new to me. It is a stunning image which I will share in the near future.
So I’m in the process of sending him a few goodies in return, but it will take me a couple of days. With that in mind I figured why not update the blog with a paddling pic as an advance thanks to him for the images. While I am not 100% sure because of how I labelled the image, I believe this is from the University of Kentucky in 1951. It could be Kansas though, lol.

Very nice, one can hope that this isn’t simply a pose. Those of us of a certain age know that girls who wore saddle shoes were often the most deserving of a good swat.
Yes, Warmhand, not quite the sugar and spice and all things nice, are they, lol.

What a wonderful pic. Thanks for posting!

Jim,
Obviously it is staged to some degree, however, as the event was called a ‘Paddle party’, there is quite the likelihood that many swats were given 🙂 In fact I have an image of Judy Garland paddling a Fraternity guy at a party that she was a guest of.
