Windsor Sunday Candid’s – 89

The Sunday candid this week is from the play  “Gidget”. Previously I have only uploaded just a single pic from this play,  even though I have half a dozen of them. The other pic can be seen in my VARIOUS SCHOOL PLAYS album right at the very bottom of the page.

This pic this week is from Bethalto,  Il in 1967. Unfortunately there is very little information provided for the play other than a set of photos,  so it is hard to discern who is who. However,  through the process of elimination with a full cast pic,  I was able to work out that the two participants featured in the spanking are these two people here.

The spanking action even takes place on the same stage prop that the couple are sat on above. I haven’t posted the cast pic but trust me,  there is no girl in the cast pic that has a hairstyle even remotely similar to the girl pictured above. So before the spanking police arrive and say that the girl getting spanked has one granule of hair more than the girl above,  you will have to take my word for it that it is in fact the same girl in both photos. One in regular clothes and the other in a swimsuit of the era  🙂

  1. The Spanking Police are here, just to point out that there are two plays by Frederick Korner. The first is entitled simply Gidget, and the sequel is Gidget Goes Hawaiian. The spanking is in the first one, Gidget, so it’s misleading to mention Gidget Goes Hawaiian.

  2. That’s interesting, Harry, though I’m not sure I like the term misleading. I could be wrong, but the visual appearances of both plays seems to be in a similar vein, am I correct in thinking that? I know that I have discovered the pics using the search term ‘Gidget goes Hawaiian’. However, I think there is a good chance that I thought both plays were the same from the visual representations that I was seeing.

I don’t mind being wrong or being corrected if more information that I am not aware of is available. There was no intent to mislead though, the information that I provided was to the best of my knowledge 🙂

  3. OK, if it needs spelling out, let’s say unintentionally misleading. But to talk about Gidget Goes Hawaiian in the context of the Gidget (stage) spanking scene is like showing a Streetcars picture and talking about Stag Line (which, for those who don’t know, is the sequel to Men are Like Streetcars and does not have a spanking scene).

The first play, Gidget, the one with the spanking, is set in Malibu. It is obvious where the second play, Gidget goes Hawaiian, is set. The reason they look similar is that the second play is doing the usual sequel thing of giving the punters ‘something different’ but also ‘more of the same’ – different place, same stuff as before.

  4. Sometimes things do need spelling out. I’m always open to being corrected if I have provided information that isn’t completely accurate, and I thank you for pointing out that the information that I had provided was incorrect.

I’ve also been known to point out errors, especially when I see the term “I think this is real”. Those images are generally always intentionally misleading with the use of editing software to manipulate the colors, chop heads off of known spanking performers and apply an aging filter to make it look like the image is from a different decade.

In fact I have one coming up this week with a purchase that I have made on Ebay. The image has been portrayed before as a birthday spanking, but from what I have seen of the original magazine clipping (granted I can’t read every word until it arrives at my home) there doesn’t seem to be any indication of a birthday spanking. So my hope is to clarify a record, and also present the image as it is seen in the original magazine article. Important because it is actually a left handed spanking as opposed to the known grainy version which depicts a right handed spanking.
