I’m not sure that I want to admit how long I spent editing this pic this morning! It was one of those really dark newspaper clippings that I needed to lighten several times.
Once I got the image to where I wanted it to be, I do have to make a confession. For the final edit I ran the image through an AI enhancement tool to take some of the edge off of the distortion.
Obviously I still have the original, but I think that this spanking picture came out really well. What do you think?
A compelling image – love the expressions. And the quote, “applying what Tim calls etiquette”, is great too! Your edit looks good to me, and hasn’t sacrificed the newsprint vibe. Another fab find!

Some of the newspaper clippings that I have are in an appalling state. This one wasn’t the worst, but it was still very dark. For the AI enhancement I set rendering machine low. Just enough to take the edge off. BTW, in the movie version of this play, the actor playing the male role was none other than Compo from Last of the Summer Wine. When he was a young man, of course.
