Windsor Wednesday Classic – 77

Okay,  so I know it’s Friday,  but I need to keep my theme. This weekend I will update you on the news,  but in a nutshell I have to move apartments by May the 1st. Having lived where I am now for 17 years,  there is so much to get done in 7 weeks.

Anyway,  more over the weekend,  for now you can get to enjoy a good paddling pic. It is interesting that the girl is in some type of costume,  possibly getting ready for a school play?

This will be added to my WINDSOR’S PADDLINGS folder.

  1. Great pic! The calendar isn’t legible enough to nail down the year, but the boy’s slacks place this around 1970. It does look like a ceremonial spanking of some kind rather than a disciplinary paddling, and that they’re both having a pretty good time. The girl’s costume suggests either the drama society or perhaps the school choir – American public schools do not have general uniforms but choirs and bands do.

  2. Being an OTK purist, I have virtually no interest in paddling pictures, but the calendar conundrum engaged my attention… The months are laid out in two columns, which can be read in two different ways (top to bottom twice, or left to right six times). Each month is laid out one week per line, with Sundays at the left and shaded. The two months that matter are the fifth one up on the left (which is either February or March) and the fourth one up on the right (September or June). The reason they matter is that you can see when the months end: in each case, the last day of the month is on a Wednesday, and the squares after that have no numbers in them.

And that establishes that the year is 1971, when both March 31 and June 30 were Wednesdays.

    Shazam!
