  3. The specific line was in a fairly popular song in 1952, called “Feet Up”. Apparently it was written in reference to a new baby boy. I remember the line being sung when playing with babies when I was growing up in the 60s:

    Feet up, pat him (her) on the po-po
    Let’s hear him (her) laugh
